Oakham School, Oakham, Rutland, United Kingdom.
Oakham School.
This collection draws together material produced for and by the marketing department of Oakham School. Particular strengths of the collection include press cuttings and publication material (prospectuses, handbooks, maps etc.).
Press cuttings from multiple local and national newspapers have been collected together by marketing staff, gathering together news of Old Oakhamians.
Publications contain material produced for new admissions into the school and contain detailed information about uniform, curriculum, pastoral care, and general daily life of the school.
This sub-fonds is divided into four series. Material has been sorted according to themes and new acquisitions are added to the end of each series/sub-series.
Many of the press cuttings are grouped together in multiple scrapbooks.
Any digital files are stored in folders that replicate the series arrangement.
Specific characteristics for individual items/ files will be noted on their specific entries.
As far as is recorded, these items are fully appraised into the collection.
Items have been acquired from many different sources over several years. Much of the material has been donated directly from the marketing department itself.
It is expected that this series will receive multiple accruals in the future.
There is little GDPR concern with this sub-fonds as the majority of the collection has already been published into the public sphere.
Specific conditions for individual items/ files will be noted on their specific entries.
Much of this collection's copyright belongs to third parties and as such, permission for reproduction will need to be sought from external bodies.
Any request to reproduce material externally must be approved in advanced by the school's archivist due to copyright and GDPR concerns. Please email ArchivesUser@oakham.rutland.sch.uk.
