School Campus

A collection of photographs and art work relating to the whole School Campus, in particular aerial photographs from 1937 of the School and the town, and a file of individual photographs of buildings around the campus. The oldest items in this sub-series date back to the 19th century.

Old Pavilion (until 1970)

A collection of documents relating to the School's first cricket pavilion. It was built on the playing fields in the 19th century. It was then enlarged and renovated in 1931, when two changing rooms and a thatched roof were added. It unfortunately burnt in May 1970.

A transcript written by John Barber in 1992 of F.C. Doherty's pamphlet published in 1932, titled 'The Story of Oakham Church, School and Castle', price sixpence. A copies are almost unattainable, Mr Barber wrote a copy to be kept permanently in the School Archives. Three pages A to C.
