This sub-series focusses on the Ashburton building, formerly the Haywood building.
Colonel Thomas Haywood, Chairman of the Trustees, laid the foundation stone of a new building, which was to bear his name, on 13th June 1964. The architects of this new academic building were F.J. Lenton & Partners. It came to use in September 1965 and was officially opened by Group Captain Douglas Bader. It housed the Geography and Modern Languages Departments. It comprised nine classrooms and the Jerwood Hall in the basement, which was equipped as a lecture hall, cinema and television room. In 1978, a new extension to the Haywood Building saw the addition of six classrooms and ancillary rooms to the Modern Languages, Geography and Audio Visual Aids Departments. The Haywood building on Church Street was extended in 1984. It was renamed 'Ashburton' in 1989 and now houses the Modern Foreign Languages and Classics departments.

This sub-series relates to the success of Oakham School Shooting VIII at Bisley in 1987, including in particular press cuttings.

This sub-series contains photographs of the exterior and interior the School memorial Chapel throughout the years. The earliest photographs showed the chapel being built in 1924-1925.

A collection of photographs and art work of College House, formerly the Old Vicarage, which was the Sanatorium before becoming the first girls' boarding house in 1971. Also contains a large file on the architecture and history of the building.

This sub-series relates to the history of the Cadets at Oakham School since 1910. The bulk of the collection is made of photographs of inspection throughout the 20th century.

This sub-series focusses on press cuttings, magazines and other publications reporting on chess tournaments at Oakham School, on Oakham School Chess team competing in National Championships, and the development of chess at Oakham School.

A collection of photographs and art work relating to the whole School Campus, in particular aerial photographs from 1937 of the School and the town, and a file of individual photographs of buildings around the campus. The oldest items in this sub-series date back to the 19th century.

A collection of photographs of the School theatres, the Barraclough Hall and the QET.

A collection of documents relating to the various Science buildings and laboratories on campus throughout the years. It includes the Sargant Laboratories and further refurbishments, the Biology block and the Mehra Faculty of Science. The bulk of the sub-series is made of architectural plans and designs.

This sub-series contains books used by pupils during services in chapel or books published by staff or Old Oakhamians and given to the school. A large part of this sub-series contains hymns books compiled by Rev T.C.H. Clare ('29).
