Buildings

This series is related to the buildings on the School campus and documents their history. Most of the collection is made of photographs and artwork, as well as architectural plans. Each sub-series focusses on a different building.

Chapmans (Junior House)

This series focuses on the Junior House/Chapmans pupils and staff since its opening in 1910. It first comprised the Junior Department with facilities for boys boarders and classrooms. The house was renamed Chapmans in September 1960, after Frank Emerson Chapman, first Housemaster of the Junior House; it became a Senior House. Most of the series is made of photographs, house photographs as well as more informal photographs.

This series contains various account books, cash books fees books and ledgers recording pupils fees and other charges, incomes and expenditures, staff wages and salaries throughout several years.

This series relates to the History of Shooting at Oakham School. The collection is made of team photographs, score books and ephemera relating to successes at Bisley. The collection spans from the 1950s to 1980s.

This series focuses on the boarding girls in Rushebrookes house. It was named after the first School Headmaster, Robert Rushbrooke. The first girls moved in in the Spring term 1980 but the building was officially open only on 22 November 1980. This series contains items related to the daily life of the girls in school and in house, as well as house photographs, mostly from the 2010s.
