This collection highlights the work and life of Oakham School pupils both during and after their time at the school. The collection has an excellent representation of the careers, work, and exam aspect of school life, including examination results, leaver destinations, work experience and information on Project 20/20.

There are detailed records on the council, Decem and prefects, particularly in their recruitment, meeting minutes, and handbooks.

In several of the series, there is a strong photographic collection illuminating the rich daily life of the school and its pupils. This is shared alongside copies of pupil magazines, arts calendars, and records of pupil achievements.

This collection focuses on the pastoral and medical care for pupils and staff at Oakham School.

This includes a sub-series donated by Jane Matthews, the first female deputy head of the school. Her collection contains minute and administrative documents relating to maternity leave, girl boarding and tutorials.

Particular strengths of the collection are the patient books in PMC/2. There are record collated by the sanitorium and subsequent medical centre, as well as accident diaries and medical administrative documents.

This collection focuses on the staff who have worked for Oakham School over the years. Material focuses on not only training and teaching, but staff wellbeing, pay and benefits.

There are two series which focus on notable members of staff from the school's history: Jon Wills and Brian Welford. Material for these staff members have been collected by themselves and other members of staff.

Recruitment series includes jobs descriptions for various positions, both teaching and support staff, in the school.

There is a strong collection of policies an guidance for teachers in completing the many administrative and teaching jobs expected.

Old Oakhamian Club

This collection charts the history and activities of the Old Oakhamian Club. It has excellent records of dinners and events thrown by the club such as reunions, international dinners and Oakham events. Most of the documents are administrative, but there are photographs and correspondence material too.

There are good records on the school's foundation and the club's golfing society. Most of the material has been produced by the Old Oakhamian club or the foundation. Thus, there is a good record of publications and marketing material relating to these events.

There is a rich collection of admissions books dating back to the 19th century alongside detailed notes of Trustees' committee minutes and development plans.

School inspections undertaken by external bodies are represented in this sub-fond and include some of the 19th century schemes which helped to found the school as one independent from Uppingham.

ADM/4 contains policy documents outlining the health and safety measures in the school.
